Soulart: The Preparation
The first design of Little Fish (Hoku) combines modern technology with organic shapes, making it look both advanced and natural. Hoku symbolizes the perfect balance between technology and nature and fits seamlessly into Elia's story.
This attic room of Elia was carefully designed to enhance the story. In the end, it was decided to film the part before the dream, so that Elia's avatar and the 3D world are used exclusively within the dream itself.
Roller skates for the main character Elia. These roller skates are not only an extension of Elia’s personality but also an important tool in her journey, designed to fully showcase her strength, speed, and creativity.
Elia's avatar with custom clothing and roller skates. Elia, a creative girl with a passion for space travel, discovers her inner strength in a dream. With the help of her stuffed animals that have come to life, she learns to believe in herself and to follow her dreams with determination.
On each planet, Elia meets a stuffed animal that helps her restore that planet and travels with her to the next. The stuffed animals symbolize friendship, loyalty, and collaboration, and represent the inner strength that Elia discovers during her journey.
Hoku (Little Fish) will later be used for a product experience where it can rotate 360° and individual elements can be highlighted. In the video, the propeller parts are taken apart and reassembled.
Hoku: Fully Finished and Rigged
1. Design and Finishing
Hoku, the small yet powerful device, is fully completed. Every design detail, from shape and textures to color schemes and lighting effects, has been carefully crafted, including the screen, illuminated parts, and mechanical components that make Hoku unique.
2. Ready for Animation
Hoku has been rigged, equipped with a digital skeleton that allows it to be animated in various positions and movements. The rigging ensures smooth motions and enables Hoku to interact with other objects in the animation. Now that the rigging and finishing touches are complete, Hoku is fully ready for use in the final animation and can be seamlessly integrated into any scene.
3. Added Value to the Animation
Hoku adds extra dynamism and interaction to the animation. Thanks to the finishing and rigging, he is visually appealing and functionally deployable in complex scenes, making him an important element in the story and the visual experience. Hoku is ready to take an active role in Elia’s adventure through the planets.
